I'm trying to figure out a lag that occurs when I'm streaming media from YouTube, Hulu, etc... I'll be playing a video (song, etc...) and at random intervals, it stalls and the quickest way to restart the stream is to hit pause, then play, quickly. There doesn't seem to be any buffer issue, and I can download other items uninterrupted during the stream issue.
While I was looking for the root causes of this all, I came across a puzzle in the setup of my Linksys WRT120N router. I typically set up my router to use OpenDNS's servers, and, up until recently, they worked fine. Then, not long ago, Charter Cable replaced a burnt-out cable modem. Since that time, my router started using DNS addresses that are different from the ones that I had set up in the router config. (See attach)
Before I call Charter Support (an all-day process), I wanted to see if anyone had any ideas of getting around this, or how Charter managed to hijack my settings.
Happy Trails

- This is probably the longest I've ever had a Windows machine run without having to restore it to scratch. I'm used to restoring to "factory" about every 2 yrs. I've run with Win7 since new in 2009 and only recently (Nov, '14) restored to clean up the machine from all my 'xperimenting. LOL!! I may never need another machine.
Upgraded to 10 when it was still free, then installed 2017 update.
