Hi,
I have my own doubt that it will overlook the router settings, if the dns settings is set up ISP in the router.
Would any body clarify how the connection is established with the modem, when you switch on the modem and computer?
Would it not search the dns settings in the router first , before it is being overlooked with the dns set outside?
pl reply

By default a lot of routers set its self as DNS via dhcp this can slow the router down and also it's slow if you set your DNS manually to open DNS or Google it will make the pc faster and reduce problems with the router the pc gets it IP gateway and DNS setting from the router when it starts if it's set to dhcp

Hi, Thanks for your reply. But i want to know more about this settings. pl
If i manually set my dns to google, which i am at present having, would it not look for the routers dhcp settings first and then google dns?
I understand the benefit of having google dns.
But when i use , any software , it not only lists the google dns, but also the inner dhcp ips, there by showing that it tries to access that dhcp also. am i correct?
Or it will just check the computer settings and access the google dns.
Should i switch on the router after i switch on the computer?
what will happen if i switch on the modem and then the computer? Modem will just be on and would expect a dns server ?
There are so much doubts that i have in this connection. Please educate

If you set DNS as static on your network adapter it doesn't look for or accept DNS from the router

Hi, Static ips is not advisable and so much materials online tells that if a malicious site tries to attack , dynamic is preferable. It is also from the sites materials i came to know that it overtakes the router settings, if you deselect auto obtain and give some other dns servers. Normally how the router checks, whether it checks first in the router and tries and then after seeing the outer router dns settings, it takes that dns server to get internet access.
i want elaborate technical details for not only for me, but all the users who would be benefitted.
