do i have a virus?

new guy here so be gentle...my pc screen freezes up after starting up ,tool bar is locked but mouse move .if i open a program from desktop it opens but then screen is locked and mouse still moves. ctlr,alt ,delete and i click on switch user, log in and its fine. doesnt seem to lock up till im off my pc then its the same thing over again.
