Hi,

Since late June/early July Windows Update has been listing KB3186497 as a recommended update. I've been holding off installing it because I'd heard it had been a problematic patch for many people. I don't understand .NET Framework and don't know if I need to upgrade it to version 4.7.

Is this a necessary patch? If not, do I still need to install KB4041083?

Thanks in advance.

I've had a problem installing (KB4041083) for the last two weeks but found a solution in another thread.

2017-09 Security and Quality Rollup for .NET Framework 3.5.1, 4.5.2, 4.6, 4.6.1, 4.6.2, 4.7 on Windows 7

If the update keeps failing, download Net 4.7 offline installer for Windows 7. Run a repair or uninstall/reinstall. I opted for a repair. After a reboot, i ran the update and it finally installed
