Nomophobia :the fear of being out of mobile phone contact.

The phrase was coined by a U.K. study commissioned by SecurEnvoy as an abbreviation for no-mobile-phone phobia, and it found that two-thirds of mobile phone users get anxious when losing their phone, running out of battery power or finding themselves in a location without network coverage.

The study also showed that younger people (18 to 34) are more likely to be nomophobic, and the level of nomophobia has increased from 50 percent to 66 percent in the last four years. It also found the average case of nomophobia causes stress levels similar to those of suffering anxiety related to "wedding day jitters" or going to the dentist.

LOL!! Same here! I always have my packs with me all the time..I'm always planning to go cold turkey, but I just can't..too difficult to quit!

That's great. Never to late to quit. I stopped in 1966 when I was in the service. All our restaurants in Louisiana are smoke free. Nice to sit down at a nice meal and not smell that putrid smoke.

I lived for many years without a phone and still have only one at the house. And even that would not be there if it was not for the wife. I hardly ever use it. At home, I have a phone booth 5 steps from the house. That would suffice for me.

If I'm ever kicked out of school it's going to be because I finally snap and really clobber one of what seems to be an endless stream of nitwits who can't walk from class to class without sending a text message to someone. The whole world seems to be walking around with their chins permanently attached to their breastbones.

I have left instructions that if I were ever to succumb to this horrible disease it is my wish to be institutionalized until I recover. I would not want to be a danger to others.

Ask me again and I'll tell you how I really feel about it.

I had one once for emergency use only. No extras just a simple cell phone.

Of course it would never find service when I did need it.
I have to drive 2 miles to hit the "local" tower.
Their is no service between that tower and the next major towns so emergency use on the road is useless.

Waste of money so no more cell phones for me.

I have a mobile phone but i don't care if is on or off.

When i am busy the first thing i do is to turn off mobile.

Is helpful though when i am driving for work for the mobile+car Bluetooth connection.
