Hello 7forums.
Here is a little introduction: I recently started my game designer education. At school we got some MAC's and I finally got myself 17.3 inch full HD laptop.
Have been playing around with Windows 7 customization so far and well.

But what I liked on MAC is that it got a dock with all "Game design programs" (Unity, Maya, Photoshop ect) under one folder. Click on folder and it expanded out of dock, without opening new window. Than you could choose a program to run.

Now I dont like clutter on my desktop and so far I got a plenty of such. Is there a docking program for Windows 7 that work the same way around?

I tried using RocketDock, neat stuff. But when I add a folder to it, it OPENS that folder in new window. Would be nice if it opened folders in same style as Libraries folder does (when you right click it) that you can pin to your task bar.

Thanks for any advice.
Zing

Like in this image?

The Task Bar is Task Bar, but above it there is a "Docking" gadget called RocketDock.

Also stand-alone stacks 2 uses the same library as RocketDock stacks. You make a stack and pin to the taskbar. Only thing I've seen in Windows7 is sometimes you get the "blank paper" icon even though the inside of the shortcut shows the correct icon. I get around it by extracting the icon and putting it in a folder, then use Change Icon. (Seems to happen one time out of ten. Haven't figured out why.)

It's a freebie. I also use RocketDock but stand-alone stacks are good for stuff I use very frequently.

If you go with RocketDock I wrote some Work Area adjuster utilities that prevent maximized programs from covering the dock. They are all free for you to use at your own risk:

Thanks for the reply guys, I found out what I needed. It was Stack Docklets... Want to keep my taskbar and desctop as clean as possible, but sometimes, even with such handy search functions, going through START is too much.
