Does a full hard disk have influence on performance ?

Hi all.

I am using 7 sp1 on Dell Inspiron 1520. with 1 GB Ram and 180 GB hard disc.

I always keep a large empty space on drive C.

But for other drives, i always keep the amount just low enough, until the color of the bar indicates do not be red and stay always blue.

Is this behavior good enough, or i have to keep more extra space free, even the bars are blue ?

Judging by your specs your issue is more that 1gb RAM which is too little for WIn7. You'd need to double that to run it without sluggish performance.

My 2 cents.
Yes the 1G Ram is too low. But it would also be requiring heavy use of the pagefile on the HDD. If your HDD is 90% full it could be highly fragmented and the paging operations slow. So increase your Ram and give yourself more free space on the HDD. If you have lots of data maybe put it on an external HDD.
