Does any VR headsets "force" system requirements?

I been playing games for a long time, and I know for games, that for example, if it says you need a minimum of a 3 GB Video Card, and you only have 1.5 GB of memory on your video card, that the game will still "try" to run if you run it, on a system with below the minimum requirements. I just recently upgraded my video card, but before I did, I was running games that said a minimum of 2 GB or even 3 GB for memory on a 1.5 GB video card. A very few games, would give a warning message that you may not be able to play the game, or that your video card is below the requirements, but they still worked.

Now I wanted to know if any VR headsets, "force" system requirements, for example, refuse to work (without even trying) if your video card or CPU is below what they list for requirements? I never seen a game do that, so I would think they wouldn't, but given how expensive they are, I wanted to make sure.

For example, you can overclock a CPU so it is running as fast as a higher model CPU, so your system may "meet requirements" but if a programmer just wrote the program to look for specific models of CPU to tell if your system works. There is different reasons, why your system may work with VR but not meet the requirements.

So I want to make sure it will try to run, and they don't just check model numbers of parts.

Yes, there is a "minimum requirement" set for VR headsets, as there is for games. If you try to run the computer on less than minimum requirement, then the game will probably refuse to run, or run audio with no picture, etc. However, there is usually a "recommended requirement", at which the game is said to run at it's best.
For more on VR headset minimum requirement see:
Microsoft's minimum requirements for VR headsets will go up with its Creator's Update next year

Now, the article is a little out of date, as Creators update has already occurred, but it illustrates my point, that there is a minimum requirement, and that it could change.
