Ram-Kingston Hyper X/KHX2000- 12 gigs
Can I or should I install all the ram on a fresh install of Home Premium SP1-64 or install a lesser amount and add the rest of the ram after W7-64 is loaded.

Seriously, I installed Win 7 on my Dell E520 with 8 gig installed without problems.

I always run Memtest86+ overnight on a new build.

If your test comes out clean then you don't need to worry (so much) about the installation failing due to RAM errors.

Otherwise it would not matter how much RAM is installed - unless you exceed the max RAM limit for the OS. For W7 Home Premium that is 16GB.
(192GB for Pro, Enterprise, & Ultimate).

The Windows 7 install went well with 6 gigs so I install the rest. Now have 12 gigs installed.
