Hello,

It is a very weird problem. I do not even know how to troubleshoot it. When I double click to the folder where I store my application shortcuts, Windows explorer crashes (not always). I am suspicious of Advanced System Care and I've removed it from context menu integration, still no luck. Since the problem occurs randomly, I dont know what causes it. I've formatted my PC yesterday and I didn't experience explorer crashes till installing the ASC. But since problem occurs very randomly, I am not very sure that it is caused by ASC.

Help me troubleshoot it, thank you.

Hello Dewe,

Well done on removing Advanced System Care. Do you have any other programs, like registry cleaners or programs that are supposed to tune-up your computer?

https://www.malwarebytes.org/

Malwarebytes will product a log, please can you upload it to here? Navigate to: C:\ProgramData\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes Anti-Malware\Logs and upload the logs to here.

Thank you,
VinnyBuxton

Hi,

I did not remove ASC. I removed it's context menu integration, since generally folder related explorer crashes caused by them, but found no luck. It still randomy crashes. I doubt it's malware originated, since it occurs in 24 hours old system.

Regards.

Advanced System Care is known to cause plenty of computer problems. Try completely uninstalling it from Programs & Files in Control Panel. Apparently uninstalling does not always fix the mess it can create so you may still have problems.

Hi again, I have some updates,

1- I captured the crash log:

2- I found a way that definetly reproduces the crash: I have 3 folders in my desktop, 2, where I store my application and game shortcuts and 1, the trash bin.

When I open&close folders/trash bin randomly, at one point folder no 1 (application shortcut storer) crashes the explorer.exe.

3- I uninstalled all the IOBit products, including ASC and Uninstaller. Since then I am unable to reproduce the crash.

4- If it doesn't crash within 48 hours, I'll mark this thread as solved. If it crashes again, I'll boot in the safe mod and give it a try.

Thank you all for your great support.

Regards.
