Doubling up tracks

I burn albums for the car so the original CD doesn't get scratched etc Now I am finding that certain long albums are either too long to fit on one CD so have set the audio set to a slightly less quality than the Waveless I usually use but now find on burning I am getting two copies of the album on one CD??

I have tried deleting the original rip and ripping again but have this painful problem. My Xonar is also included in the listing as a data? item?

Any ideas please?

Has to be something you are doing. Standard audio CD's whether a commercial CD or a burned one are the same length.

Try ripping the CD to a file on the Hard Drive using Audiograbber (what I use). That will give you the one file per song and should not have anything to do with your sound card. Then burn the audio CD.

You can also try just copying the CD. Even though the CD may be copy protected some are still "copyable".

I use Nero for all my CD burning, but that is not a freeware program, although you can download a trial copy of Nero and then use the "Nero Burning ROM" (what I use) to either copy or burn the audio CD. Nero 2014 15 day Trial

With my home recording studio, I do a lot of audio CD burning.

Thanks Jack I will try the Audiograbber tomorrow as right now am at work. The grabber I take will just copy? as well as rip to the HDD?

The album I am trying to burn is 66 mins long and should fit onto the 70 min blanks I cannot find out why the double tracking is going on though as I tried it on two machine with the same result.
It did burn and had the tracks on the burnt CD and played on the machines but will not play at all in the car, I just get a mish mash of weird looking data stuff on the car stereo readout..

Never had this problem before and am wondering if there is something encrypted on the original.??

There have been a few CD's with advanced copy protection, a couple of years ago, but nothing that I've heard of lately.

Audiograbber will rip to either wav or MP3. It will even rip CD-G Karaoke discs.

Hiyya Jack I did that rip with Audiograbber and then burnt the CD with WMP but my car stereo is telling me to check the disk again.
The grab sequence went real well and it was added to the library but with that problem with burning?
I ma doing something not quite right - any ideas mate??

Either WMP converted the songs to MP3 and the car can't play them, or possibly the burn speed. Many audio CD players can't play audio CD's burned at high speeds. My Audio CD "burn standard" is 8X, as I make audio CD's for my recording studio customers and others to sell and older Audio CD players have problems with playing them above 8X or 12X. However, most SATA burners will only go down to 16X, but use that.

I would try burning with another CD burner program. Imgburn is popular but I don't like it. CDBurnerXP, to me, is better for a free burner. I use NERO "Burning ROM" with my "commercial" burning. You can download a 15 day trial version of Nero, which is another option. Burn the audio CD, as "DAO" (Disc At Once), not track at a time.
