Hey guys,

I find myself hardly using my gaming pc anymore for gaming,i usually just surf the net and listen to music on it,play the odd BC2 round on a weekend and that's about it as i now have a Xbox 360 :D

So ive been thinking of selling my rig and buying a newer,But lower end setup,Would this setup cope with Bad Company 2?...i can live with medium settings in DX9 that's not a problem if it has to be turned down.

AMD Athlon II X4 635 2.9GHz 2MB Cache Socket AM3 Retail Box Processor
MSI 870-C45 AMD 870 Socket AM3 GB LAN 8 Channel Audio ATX Motherboard
Kingston 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 1600MHz HyperX Memory Kit CL9(9-9-9-27) 1.7 - 1.9V
Sapphire HD 5450 1GB DDR2 DVI VGA HDMI Out PCI-E Low Profile Graphics Card

I already have Sata hard drives,Sata DVD-WR,A 460W Power supply and a Low profile case and a Low Profile Asus Xonar D1 sound card so they wont be any extra cost.

Its just my current system seems, under used with its power and i know it eats the juice (Power wise)..so something that doesnt eat so much electric would be nicer and i know that setup above will be alot more energy efficient.

Total cost of the "Downgrade"

The only thing I would change in that would be instead of a Radeon HD 5450, get an HD 5570, it has much better performance. Or even an HD 5670, Newegg.com - MSI R5670-PD512 Radeon HD 5670 512MB 128-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready Low Profile Ready Video Card with Eyefinity.

But it's not exactly a bad choice at all. I can relate to this as I sometimes wonder why I upgrade my PC in the first place as all I really do with it is watch movies, play music, surf the web, and some light gaming.

Even without gaming, owning a high-end hardware config can save you time on pretty much anything. Ripping CDs, watching videos (especially HD), copying/moving files; it allows you to play with PC customization more (add gadgets, rainmeter, a dock etc.) not to mention the initial boot time of the OS, the web browser, power hungry software packages for graphics/video/audio editing, and even installation of Windows Updates. It's not just what you personally see and do that's affected by lowering/improving a hardware setup, but the whole OS including each and every service it runs.

Personally I think that unless you really need the money, just keep the current config.

Everything looks fine except for the GPU.

99% sure that card isn't powerful enough to run BFBC2 in DX9 @ the lowest settings possible. It's that 'weak'.

I'd go for AT LEAST a HD 5670.

Remember, BFBC2, even set to the lowest settings possible, can be a pretty demanding game.
