I don't like the fact that it's tied to GFWL. In Vista it wasn't. Not really a big deal since I have a few GFWL games, I just think we could have got this without it.

OK, i've installed the live thing.
It's more than I expeected, and some games may actually work (the gma500 is supposed to e a touch more powerful)

In the download package, which you can find by default in the following location:

C:\Users\<UserName>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\GFWLive\Downloads\

you will find a compressed cabinet file like the one shown below:

If you open this file, you will see the following items:

Select them all and then right-click and choose Extract... Select a location where you want to extract the files.

To install the game browse to the location where you saved the files and click on Game.msi. This will install the game. Note that you will get the DX9 error if you try to run it. To correct this, click on DXSETUP.exe to install the relevant DX files.

hi dwarf, no i do not get the popup, i only downloaded the game yesterday from the game live site . my os was a clean install so no remnants of vista. it doesnt matter anyway but still very strange, will try dlding again tomorrow
and see what happens!:)

I've registered for Live, installed the program... and it tells me my account is invalid. I wonder if this has to do with my registered email address being gmail and not that godawful Hotmail/Live which I never use? Jesus Christ this company is run by idiots. They allowed me to sign up a gamertag using my gmail address but I can't actually LOG IN using this account so I have no way to change the email address associated with it, or use the gamertag.

Yet I can get my password reset emails sent to gmail.

Screw this game. It's not worth the hassle.
