Downloading pics from my phone to laptop.

Suddenly unable to download pics from my phone. It is either an update for Windows 7 or an update from Samsung!? Any ideas?

Probably Samsung, or something wrong with your phone or an update that effected the method that you use, just keep troubleshooting until something works, not much info in your post.

Try this:

-Make sure the phone is connected to your computer via the original USB cable and that it’s powered on.
-From the top edge of the screen, swipe down your finger to pull down the notification shade.
-You should be able to see the USB options so touch on it to view other options.
-Touch Media Device (MTP) to be able to transfer media files.
-Or you may touch Camera (PTP) if you just want to transfer photos via the Camera app.

checking to see if your computer and phone are connected.as long as the Android and laptop are connected completely ,uploading photos is easy .

One way which should always work is to use Dropbox. Set up a free Dropbox account; install it on your phone; copy the desired pics to Dropbox. Now go on your computer, log onto Dropbox, and download the pics from Dropbox to the computer.

It is a hassle having to do it this way; but it's better than nothing.

This is my preferred method. I don't consider it a hassle at all, I find it much more convenient than hooking up the phone via cable. You don't need a a cable and you don't even need to be in the same room as your computer.


You can setup Dropbox to automatically download the pictures to your computer so that you don't even need to login to Dropbox to do the download.

Dropbox can do that , but make sure the phone is connected to the computer,otherwise, it won't be able to upload your photos, either

As long as both the computer and the phone have an internet connection, the pictures will be transferred. There's no need for a physical connection (via cable).


If the computer or the phone aren't connected to the internet at the time, then the next time they are connected, the pics will transfer.

If it is a Bluetooth issue, delete the pairing on phone and Notebook and start from scratch.
