My drive C is full so I want to change the installation location. i clicked the download properties and changed it's location to another drive. I didn't create a folder or choose an existing folder to that drive. I only select the location to the drive itself. And when I clicked the opeen file location of the downloads on the favorites tab, it takes me to the drive but the download folder isn't showing up. I accidently removed the download folder from the favorites tab then I can't find it anymore. I downloaded a file but it only made a new folder on dive C. And the new download folder doesn't have the Location.

Hi tomatojam, welcome to Seven Forums,

When you downloaded the file did it give you the option of where to save the file to (i.e. Save, Save As, Open)?
If so, did you try saving it directly to your other drive from there?
Depending on what Browser you are using it sounds like the settings for download are still set to your C:\ drive!

BTW, it will be better for you to receive help if you post the image directly into your post rather than having a link to FB etc! Some people don't like opening external links for obvious reasons!

I hope this helps!

You can add "Downloads" folder to your Favorites tab again by going to C:\Users\[username]\, then move Downloads over the Favorites tab (drop Downloads to Favorites).

Changing the download location of files depends on what browser you use. Here are some guides for popular browsers:

Google Chrome - click three dots menu (top right corner) > Settings > click Advanced (at the bottom) > find Downloads section, there will be info about the current download location and a "CHANGE" button next to it.

Firefox - Change download location.

Internet Explorer - Change download location.

Another option is to open File Explorer, right-click on your Downloads folder, and choose Properties. Then click on the Location tab. Put the drive and path where you want the Downloads folder to be, then click Apply.

You can do the same with your Documents folder.

In each of these cases, it will ask you if you want to move the contents to the new location. Tell it yes to let Windows move the contents.
