In year 2014 I bought a HP Pavilion g6-2105so laptop with Windows 7.
It has been working OK, but several times every month the screen becomes black and the
computer has to be stopped and restarted with the ON/OFF button.
I have got the advice to reinstall the graphics driver.
Running dxdiag to see what I have I get:

Screen Nane: Intel HD Graphics 4000 Manufacturer: Advanced Micro Devices Inc. Driver: Main Driver: igdmund64.dll,... Version: 8.933.0.0 Date: 2012-01-06

At HP home page, Customer support I write: Series number. 5CD2152BTL Product number: B1R92EA I get two suggestions for graphics driver:

1. Graphics driver for AMD HD Version 8.933.3.4000 File name: sp58894.exe
2. Graphics driver for Intel HD Version 8.15.10.2712

I do not know which driver to use. Nr 2 is for Intel HD, but nr 1 has a version number
similar to what I have now.

I do not find any intallation program. Is it just to double-click tne downloaded file?

If the installation is unsuccessful (black screen) is there a way back?

Best regards
Sven Ingvar

Check your device manager, then under display devices see what it thinks you have at the moment. Speccy will also show you this.
