Driver install problem with X360 Wireless controller receiver for win7

First off, I know how to install the drivers as done in this guide. It has worked perfectly for three months, but when I sat down to play today it didn't work. The controller disconnects and won't reconnect.

I have installed and uninstalled, disconnected and reconnected, tried different controllers. Hell, I even reinstalled windows. Sometimes when I reinstall the drivers (in Device Manager) it tells me "the device can't start" and other times it works and is listed correctly. Whenever I reinstall the drivers and the device is listed correctly, after five seconds it shows up as an unknown device under "Universal Serial Bus Controllers". Sometimes the receiver works for a couple of minutes before disconnecting again, pushing me closer and closer to the edge of insanity.

At first I thought it was the receiver gone fubar, but I tested it on several other computers and it worked perfectly. What is going on with my computer? Can anyone help me out at all?

EDIT: I recently moved to the other side of the country. Could the computer have been damaged? If so, why would this be the only issue?

Hi Welcome to Seven Forums ... Does this happen with all USB Ports ? .... What about other Devices how do they work ? ...

I've tried every port. Every other USB device functions as they should. Could my router be interfering with the signal, or is it on a different frequency? It's standing right next to my computer.
