This reminds me why I hate Sony...you can't choose your OS in their driver listings because they don't support anything on your computer that isn't the default OS:mad:

...anyhow here is the page for your drivers...Sony eSupport - VGN-FZ340E - Software Updates & Drivers

Install what you need in Compatibility Mode mentioned above

Thanks thefabe after fallowing your tutorial my card reader is working but I still having problems with my camera. It's installed but for some reason when I tray to use it appears to be in use by another program or it can't be detected. What else could I do?

Same issue with VGN-FZ340e vaio.

Tried all the drivers I can find, but although the camera and microphone are recognized, they both return zero results when I try to use them (black camera picture and no audio).

Seems to me that if Sony were more forthcoming with their assistance on this that when I coose to upgrade I'd stick with them as a provider? As it is, I won't be going back to them. I know for a fact they have comparable hardware but refuse to help you step 'outside the box', even when your warranty is already over.

Selling an X64 compatible machine with only vista 32 bit seems ridiculous to me, and if the end user wants to reinstall another OS they should give you as much info as they can and point out that once you do it, they won't support the system anymore - that would suite me!

My first option was to downgrade to XP-32, but since I now have virtually everything running under Win7-64 apart from the camera and Microphone, I think they should be able to help somewhat! I'll dig up the actual hardware the 340e has and post it shortly just in case somebody can point at the right drivers, but I think it's the Sony Firmware parser that's stopping it from working correctly....
