Ho HO HO...
Ho-ho-ho! But what if it's not AGP in my system?
Worth trying anyway...
If only someone can dig deeper and discover what registry key does
that thing change (VPU Recover), we all can try it without installing old drivers...
-----------------------------------------
-----------------------------------------
Yea, I've searched registry for VPU and found a dozen keys with value "30 00",
which according to google is OFF. If someone has "31 00" that means it's still ON.
But my Driver Stopped Responding problem seems gone since I updated m/b
drivers and activated ACPI instead of IDE for SATA drives.
(but you need to activate ACPI drivers first, or Win7 wont boot)
"Ho-ho-ho!
But what if It's Not AGP in my system?
Worth trying Anyway ... "
::: )))) forgot to tell us what version of drivers use.Looking on your profile that you have a notice board ATI Radeon HD 4870 512MB GDDR5 PCI-Express 2.0 x16 in 2008 June,: J) my hunch is that you installed since 2010 for various Windows operating system 7.=> Very wrong in my opinion! ! ! ! ! ! !
Compatible drivers for your motherboard must be designed for Windows Vista 32 bit, that if you have a 32 bit Windows 7, and in 2008 will be something like: 8.12
Windows Vista - 32-Bit Edition has 43.1 MB of on 10/12/2008, or drivers included in 05.2008-12.2008 !!!!!!!!!!WHY ????????????:::))))))))))))))
Very simple, because the date when the video cards, the manufacturer built perfectly compatible drivers for Windows XP and Windows Vista for this model HD 4870 PCI-Express, and support for DirectX 10.At that time there was anywhere in the world drivers for Windows 7.
) So what?, Who cares?, Contained important is that those drivers and support for so-called "Aero" built into Windows Vista and later Windows 7.So only between Windows XP and other operating systems there are two changes, say to them "major" between Vista and not ditch changes Seven "major" With regard to video drivers! ! !
Not so one morning when you woke up, have displayed a smile to your friends and you told them that I am going to buy an ATI Radeon HD 4870 512MB GDDR5 PCI-Express 2.0 x16, and when friends you have asked but why buy this card?, you've answered them simply: "Because it is new" and has "new drivers" and at one week after you bought it you found that going " PERFECT ".???! ! !
I do not understand is, why in 2010 you changed your mind?, And have concluded that your video card drivers to ditch "OLD "????, well, like saying that ditch ..." NEW " ? I say leave it as it appeared at that time and you'll see that we should go smoothly. But it is just my opinion, you do what you want.I have shown that if drivers keep the Office of the date when the video card compatibility is almost perfect.
In your case if you install those ... "Old Drivers" for Windows Vista, even if you have Windows 7 will not be required to do update the video driver, because those drivers include support for so-called "Aero".
It is a way of speaking "DRIVE OLD 'usually installs the drivers for that particular model of video card, regardless of year of that video cards.
You say that with this PCI-Express card you see this message: "Display Driver Stopped Responding and Has Recovered".My opinion: 100% guilty of this message is the version of video drivers that you installed.I'll give you an example:
I wrote in previous post that I have a old computer in 2004 with an ATI 3850 AGP card in 2008, and 8.12 all 2008 video drivers, but updated in 2010, and everything goes OK with the "Aero" with everything on a Windows 7.GOOD.
But at home I have a newer computer in 2009, with proceosr Intel ® Core TM 2 Quad Q6600 2.4GHz 2, etc., and an ATI Radeon 5850 card on PCI-Express 2.0 x16, in 2009, careful driver Video for Windows Vista from the original
CD in 2009 and works perfectly on Windows 7.
Since March 2010 till now [August 2010] has not generated even once famous message: "Display Driver Stopped Responding and Has Recovered ', repeat or even once!!
Works perfectly, this computer belongs to my brother, but all i installed operating system and all drivers and the video drivers when I wanted to install the "sin" at the time the original DVD there were only drivers for Windows XP and Windows Vista. So what??no matter Works well on Windows 7 !!!!!!
You say:
"If Only diary jurnal Can dig Deeper and discover What does the registry key
that thing change (VPU Recover), WE ALL Can Without Installing old drivers try it ... "
:::)))) Dear friends I have two news for you: one good and one bad.
The bad news is that there is and nobody will ever find "the registry key does
that thing change (VPU Recover) '! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !!!
WHY ??????? SIMPLE:
In my first post will say that with the launch of Windows Vista, Windows 7
"VPU Recover" of ATI Catalyst Drivers NVIDIA Software, Intel ... etc., is no longer displayed, and therefore can not enable or disable him because he was implemented in these two operating systems. But beware! ! ! ! ! ! That "function" that "program" built into Windows Vista, Windows 7 HitPark no longer called the "VPU Recover" but called the "Diagnostic Policy Service, but include the same tasks over which they have" VPU Recover. Therefore nothing should seek someone "registry key" for "VPU Recover" because it would not help anything, even if we will find: J), so that tasks "VPU Recover" was taken by "Diagnostic Policy Service "built into Windows Vista, Windows 7.
CONCLUSION: "VPU Recover" is not to blame for the famous error: "Display Driver Stopped Responding and Has Recovered", it just appears, that is only informs us that the conflict between the video driver and video card GPU.
The good news is that we can "kill" : ))))" Diagnostic Policy Service! ! !
Do you want to "kill"?OK let him "kill" ... ...:
But first let's do appear to "ORDER": :
) famous message "Display Driver Stopped Responding and Has Recovered".
To do this, open a file with extension.XML, with the help of Internet Explorer.Repeat with Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox does not work otherwise, that it is not us "help" to generate the error quickly.
If you have a file extension. "Xml" will show you one ..
)
Go on the route:
C / Windows / Users / User Name [Your name, example: David] / Local Settings / ATI / ACE.
Here you have at least one file. Xml, open this file with Internet Explorer, make "Full Screen" and now run with the mouse to scroll up and down about 6,7,8,9,15,20, second, possibly one minute until it appears on the screen right below the following message: "Display Driver Stopped Responding and Has Recovered".!
Wait a few seconds to recover, that is to recover the driver and now go on the route:
Start/ Search / and type "services.msc" without the quotes / open the Services, and press the letter "D" to get faster to the "Diagnostic Policy Service, right click on the" Diagnostic Policy Service Properties, go to " Startup Type "and where it says" Automatic ", set DISABLE and the bottom button" STOP ". Click" Aplly "and OK. Warning , Warning , do not restart your computer !
, because we just do a "Test" to say "a demonstration" for those who believe that "VPU Recover" or "Diagnostic Policy Service" is responsible for the famous message:" Display Driver Stopped Responding and Has Recovered ".!!!!!!!
Okay now you "kill" Diagnostic Policy Service in Windows 7 and normally will not have to defend the famous message: "Display Driver Stopped Responding and Has Recovered".
Let's Test:
Once we open a file with extension.XML "and are running Internet Explorer with the mouse to scroll up and down, maybe even one minute 6,7,8,9,10,15,20 seconds until a crash and the video driver but this time we no longer appears and the famous message: "Display Driver Stopped Responding and Has Recovered".
Why?? Very simple and very logical in my opinion:
Because "VPU Recover" or "Diagnostic Policy Service" I repeat, do not guilty for this error, they just us "displays" An error occurred after a conflict, of how your video drivers and video card GPU works.
Responsible for this error :
A WRONG VERSION video drivers in relation to a video card that you have each of you.
Here's what AMD says about "VPU Recover "::::::::::::::::::
"Introduction
Can be frustrating hardware crashes, as They seem to come out of Nowhere and
interrupt work or gameplay. This is especially true When to Be There seems no choice
But to restart the computer and risk the loss of valuable work.
As part of the ITS mission to Deliver the ultimate in visual experiences, ATI has Developed
the solution that prevents certain Types of hardware crashes. This new solution is Called
VPU Recover. "
WOW this new solution is Called "VPU Recover"
OK NEXT:
"
VPU Recover why is Needed?
When crashes occur May hardware to hardware devices and the corresponding
software device drivers are no longer Able to communicate with each other. With
Visual Processing Units (VPUs), tissue crashes occur May When the graphics engine
Stops responding to display driver commands. In the past, users normally Would Be
Their forced to reboot your computer, often resulting in lost work and productivity. VPU
Many of tissue Situations Recover prevents from happening and tower system reboots
solution into the last measure. "
:::::)))))) OK NEXT:::
"How does work VPU Recover?
VPU Recover enables the ATI display driver to detect When the graphics processor is
No longer Able to Respond to display driver commands. When this hang occurs, the
Display Driver Will Attempt to reset the graphics hardware, enabling users to continue
Using the computer Without interruption or lost work.
Depending on the current state of the system When VPU Recover is activated, open
Applications May Be Able to Fully Recover From the graphics processor reset. In Other
Cases, running applications and the user closed May Be Will Be Returned To The
Windows desktop.
Should the PC Be Unable To Fully Recover from a crash, VPU Recover Will Switch
the system to software rendering mode, enabling users to save Before Their work
restarting the system. Under rare circumstances, the hardware hang May Be Severe
Enough that the graphics processor Will Be Unable To Recover. Cases in tissue, the system
Will Still Be reboot required "
OK ::::::::
))))))))))))) is concluded ????????
"Conclusion
VPU Recover substantially improves the end-user experience by handling graphics
hardware crashes into a much more graceful manner "
by AMD.! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !
My conclusion:
Install the driver closest to your video card's launch date, the corresponding model video card that year: Release Year video card>! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !
Now you can reset back to "Diagnostic Policy Service" for you to" kill "useless, he is not guilty of this" conflict "or" VPU Recover "informs you that they only have a conflict.! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !
and I concluded that my argument Honor !!!!!!!::: )))))))) ! ! ! ! ! ! !
