I recently bought a 8 GB ram stick for my laptop.

My laptop has a soldered 4 GB ram stick and only 1 free socket.

Can dual Channel still work properly if both sticks are of different brands and capacity ?

Or are there any other setbacks ? =/

soldered Ram - Samsung 1333mhz 4 GB 1.35v

Removable Ram - Kingston 1333hz 8 GB 1.5v

no both sticks woukd have to be identical. the kingston ram will run undervolted so will probably run at a slower speed than 1333mhz, which will lower the access speed further.
