Dual display not working blank screen on 'detect'

Hi Guys,

My dual screen has suddenly stopped working on my laptop. Now when I hit 'detect' my laptop screen goes black and I have to force restart the machine and disconnect the second laptop. Is this likely to be a hardware fault? Or how would I diagnose the problem?

restore back to the last checkpoint before this problem happens. some software or hardware change might cause it

Try this and on logon you'll always have extended display :
