Hi,

I had a two monitor setup Samsung 2333SW(DVI) + Philips 19B(VGA) running without any problems. I have now replaced the old Phillips with a Samsung P2770H, connecting the P2770 to DVI and switching the 2333SW to VGA(Analogue).

Updated the drivers for both (rebooted) and when I look in Device Manager under Monitors it shows Samsung P2770 and Samsung 2333SW.

Problem is when I right click on the desktop and go to Screen Resolution it shows the two monitors as "Samsung Syncmaster" being the P2770 and "Phillips" being the S2333 and because the Phillips was a 4:3 monitor it only gives me crap resolutions for the 2333SW. (1280 and below)

My question is how do I remove the Phillips monitor from Windows 7 and have it pick up the Samsung 2333SW? I find it very odd seeign as Device manager shows the two samsung monitors and no Phillip monitor.

Much appreciate your help/advice.

Adriaan

Adriaan, welcome to the forums.

I would start with setting Device Manager to show hidden and non-present devices,

http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/77614-device-manager-hidden-devices.html

Then once that is done open Device Manager and under Monitors, delete any that are grayed out as well as the mis-named one (if it shows as such). Then reboot and let Windows detect and install the driver for it. that should get them detected properly.
