Dual Monitors + Gadgets + RDP

Friends,

Is there a way to lock icons, gadgets on the desktop so they do not shift from a dual monitor environment when returning from a RDP session? There are times I turn off gadgets, rdp in, then come back to the desktop and the gadgets icons, screen res is all messed up.

Please advise.

Gadgets do remember where you move them to.

yah, but the problem is when I rdp into my desktop the gadgets shift to one monitor. after returning to the computer (physical) gadgets are on the left monitor, not back in their original position.

you can create a different user account that you RDP into, that way your main account doesn't get messed with.

true and good advice but honestly, really don't want to have two IDS just for a simple RDP problem.

Ummm, here is one that may or may not work.

How to Enable Concurrent Sessions for Remote Desktop in Windows 7 RTM

Using a concurrent session, you can lock your machine as opposed to having RDP log you out, so your settings won't get FUBAR'd.

NOTE: If you log out of your machine before initiating an RDP session, you may still get the same results as you traditionally get above

The beauty of concurrent sessions is that I can log in and still RDP in *simultaneously* (tested 3 days ago with my Motorola DROID after purchasing the Xtralogic RD app for Android to test it).

That is what concurrent means - use the *same* login credentials and log in with the same account.
