Dual screens + A/V reciever hooked to VG card, screen disconnects

Hello everyone. This is my first post here in the forums. Been browsing and getting excellent info from here for years, though.

Anyhow, as mentioned in the title, my set up is a dual screen (DVI + VGA) as well as my A/V receiver hooked up via HDMI. Randomly throughout the day (and not always every day), my DVI monitor will disconnect, screen goes black and says its going into sleep mode. If i simply unhook and re-connect, it comes back. Now, i am almost positive this has something to do with the AVR being hooked up, as it makes Windows think there is another monitor there (and my mouse extends out of the screen as if there is) which is semi-annoying. I noticed this morning i was playing music and the DVI monitor shut disconnected 3 times.

Any help would be much appreciated. VG card is a GeForce GT 740. Thanks in advance.

Go into Screen resolution(right click on empty desktop) and see if AVR is enabled/extended.

If i simply unhook and re-connect, it comes back.

For safety reasons, don't unhook and reconnect a monitor with the power on to either your computer or the monitor. It could destroy your video card.

Disable A/V Receiver in Screen Resolution then, it is normal mouse vanishes on that side. What's the purpose of the HDMI connection to A/V Receiver?

If i disable it, the sound goes with it...

Is there an option to duplicate? It should stop mouse disappearing I believe.

Would this help with DVI monitor going into sleep mode, I have no idea. Also when it goes into sleep can you move the mouse to that screen (does it disappear on that side)?

Try selecting image source (some monitor button) when it goes into sleep?
