duplicate copy and pasting issues

I am having a problem with my copy and paste function. When I paste something that I have copied elsewhere (no matter the location of pasting) I end up having to delete a duplicate paste in the same field. Can anyone solve this problem. I have looked online and cant seem to find a solution besides formatting my computer and re-installing a windows OS!

It does it no matter how you trigger the paste? Mouse, contol-v, shift-insert ... everything?

I'm trying to rule out a hardware cause like sticky keys.
In fact you could check the sticky keys setting in control panel.
That would account for key paste being duped. But not the mouse I wouldn't think.

I have tried to find it in control panel under keyboard. It doesn't show anything about the device or advanced properties. It is very strange! I will copy and paste here and show exactly what is happening : atterburyjatterburyj <------- its new to everyone I show it to and nobody knows where to rectify this problem.

It would be helpful if you answered if it happens with the mouse or even pasting out of a menu. I'm trying to eliminate sticky keyboard. But I don't know when it double pastes unless you supply the information.

im sorry. I have been away from the comp. It duplicates when I use the keyboard and with the right click of the mouse.

But if you choose Paste from a menu it works normally?

Also are you using any kind of clipboard saver utility?
It sounds like something could be adding to the clipboard without erasing the current contents. Unless it doesn't dupe on paste from a menu. In that case it sounds like some kind of double trigger.. like a stikcy keys type of thing.
