I have a new acer aspire 5534 laptop and have probably used the windows dvd maker ten times already with minimal problems. I tried to open the dvd maker today and got an error message that said my video card did not meet minimum system requirements. I know this is not true because I have used it in the past. my video card is a ATI Radeon HD 3200. Any help would be appreciated

Hello Zombi,

Welcome to Seven Forums.

I take it that you are not having any problems with the display. I would check in device manager (Control Panel\System and Security) to make sure it shows it is working properly. If so, then I would try uninstall/reinstall of DVD Maker. Control Panel/Programs and Features/Turn windows features on or off (on the left). DVD maker is under Media Features. Uncheck and reboot to uninstall. Check to reinstall (might need a reboot).

Hope this helps.

Gary

Thanks. I will try that I kept trying yesterday and it ended up opening and burned fine. This morning I tried again just to see, and the error message is back. How do I reinstall once it is untinstalled? It was a program that was already on the computer.

Window DVD maker is part of Win7.

Thank you that seems to have worked. Should I do the same with windows media player. I am having problems with it saying that there is a sound card problem. Although on some videos it works fine.

Are you having any other sound problems. Check in device manager (Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\System. Click on device manager in the left pane.) and see if it is reporting any errors. What do you have for sound? Wouldn't hurt anything to give uninstall/reinstall of WMP a try, but it may not be the problem.

I have actually had zero problems with sound. Every morning I watch news videos online and have had no problems. I tried to watch some videos that are saved on my computer and wmp would not play them saying there is a sound card problem. Some saved videos will play though. I have realtek high definition audio. I checked and it says device is working properly. Could it just be the videos audio?

That thought had crossed my mind. Did you try uninstall/reinstall of WMP. Same place as DVD Maker I believe.

If that doesn't help, any way you could transfer one of the non working vids to another computer to try? What format are the files?
