I told my mother-in-law, who is ONLY 92 years old, that I would burn a DVD for her. I got everything ready, but the program did not detect the DVD writer device. No issue – I figured I would test things with BurnAware. I put the writeable DVD into the device, ran BurnAware, but was told “Unable to detect recorders (error 452)".
The device, a Elby CloneDrive SCSI CdRom device (device type is DVD/CD-ROM drive) does appear in Device Manager and Computer Management. I ran BurnAware as Administrator, but same error. Can someone suggest something for me to try? Before anyone asks, yes, it has been at least a couple of years since I last burned a DVD.

Today, I purchased an external, USB-connected DVD writer and it works just fine. As such, I suspect that the drive in the computer has gone bad.
