I just bought my Win 7 64 Bit computer specifically for use as a DVR.

Purchased a SuperDVR 8 Camera Card and I'm having no luck. I'm very computer savy and so far I'm coming up with nothing. I don't there is a driver for it.

I've googled my fingers off and so far don't see any cards that state Win 7 64 bit compatible.

I hope someone makes one soon, I'm sitting on over $1500 in security camera equipment and I really wanted Windows 7 on this machine.

I ended up with a Geovision 8 camera card. Will only work on 32 bit computers. I am using it on a home built Win 7 machine and it works great.

Well an update,

Seems nobody makes a 64 bit driver for Windows 7.

I did figure out the make of the card. The hardware is TD and the software is SuperDVR.

I decided to make the machine dual boot to Windows XP for now and I installed it that way. The CD that came with the card had a bad version of the software, which took me about 10 uninstall and reinstalls to figure out. So finally I found a good copy of the SuperDVR software on the Q-See website. I emailed Q-See customer support and they said they don't have Windows 7 64 bit drivers yet. If anyone is going to make one, I'm guessing they will be first, they seem to be breaking out as big seller in the Security DVR market. A side note, I had a Q-See DVR for two years and it crapped out recently. I prefer having a Computer with a card because I'm capable of fixing more stuff in the computer and I can do more with this computer than I can with a proprietary DVR.

Well the dual boot worked, but I'm pissed that I never want to shut down my cameras to play with Windows 7.

Today I decided to try WinXP 32 bit in VMWare and Sun Micro's Virtual Box.

Neither did what I wanted it to do because they don't seem to find the additional slave physical drives that I need for all the video storage. Virtual box was slower performing than VMWare Viewer, but Virtual Box did show my video card in the device manager. Unfortunately though, the DVR card would install.

The only thing I haven't tried is Windows Virtual PC but I'm guessing it will be the same results, and I don't have Win7 Pro so not sure if I should pay to upgrade only to find that it is no better.

I have the PC-DVR from Swann Security, and even though it isn't listed as supported anywhere, I asked their tech support about Windows 7 in October, and they said Windows 7 support was coming.

I checked regularly and saw no announcement, so I asked again a couple of weeks ago, and received this message. I have now upgraded to Windows 7, and it seems to work, although the cameras are pointing to worthless places right now, so I am not recording, and can not vouch for how stable it is.

For you PC DVR Guardian, you can use the following version on your Windows 7.

I am actually looking to potentially use their card & driver with different software, since I don't like the way it manages its window (or fails to). It is not a resizable or movable window. :( But that was a problem on Vista as well. Any suggestions?

Also, I believe it only supports 32 bit.

Yea, I need 64 bit. It looks to me like Q-See's website is my only hope for a near future 64 bit driver. I bought my card from a friend who installs camera systems. He gets his stuff from some shop on Long Island. The place that sold it to him gave him an install CD that didn't even work properly with XP, but then I found on the Q-See website a SuperDVR software that did work with it. Apparently this computer junk is all made in China and marketed under different names, very sketchy these companies I'd say...

Well, it's now 25/09/2011 and there's still no 64-bit Windows 7 DVR card.

I just dealt with some dodgy Chinese online seller who said their 32-bit DVR card will work on 64-bit (they adjusted their website's HTML to show 64-bit after I made an enquiry). And unfortunately it didn't work. Had to mail it back to China at my expense and now they're saying it didn't arrive????

Anyways, I'm being forced to use 32-bit still. I can't believe after all this time there's no 64-bit driver?

Geovision has x64 drivers for their cards. I have a G800 and was finally able to upgrade the drivers. What a PITA to get them, if you have an older card. Once it was set up all works fine.
