I've just started use Windows 7 Media Center after using SageTV for a while and prefer the look and feel of it but I've got a problem with commercial skipping.

I'm using DVRMSToolbox and ShowAnalyzer, the recordings are getting scanned and files created but I cannot seem to be able to skip the ads when watching, from my (limited) understanding I should be able to press the right arrow on the remote and skip the ads. All that happens when I press the right arrow is that the menu pops up with the details of the program. I've set the location of where DVRMSToolbox and ShowAnalyzer save/look for the files to be the same, The MCAddin shows up in Media Center and is enable.

Also is there anyone in the UK which gets really good results with their settings for ShowAnalyzer that they would like to share ?

Any advice would be gratefully appreciated.

The MCAddin of which you speak is a little touchy. The most recent version is pretty reliable, but will sometimes get stupid and pretend it's not installed or disabled. Usually, closing MC7 and then restarting it will revive the player add-in and get it working again. A complete system re-boot is usually not needed.

The most recent ShowAnalyzer works pretty well on on American cable TV, even the few remaining analog channels. There are a few shows that the default setting are just not quite right.

Bye.
