Whenever i use a program or a website that's using flash player it reduces the whole PCs framerate to 15fps.
When i watch a video on Youtube, minimize the browser the PC still have 15fps on anything that i do.
Without the browser on i have 97fps in World of Warcraft.

This started to happen around 2-3 days ago. I always watch Twitch or Youtube on monitor 2 and play games on monitor 1 and i've never had this problem before.

Why i know it's dwm.exe is that it pumps up to 5% when i use flash, my PC fans starts to rev up more than usual. When i kill the process everything runs fine.

What i've tried to do:
- Reinstall Adobe Flash Player
- Reinstall NVIDIA drivers (clean install)
- Tried Opera, IE, Firefox, reinstall Google Chrome.

My guess is that dwm.exe is leaking or something.

Here is good link for you buddy: What is dwm.exe And Why Is It Running?

Basically DWN.exe makes your computer look pretty :)

Its highly doubtful that it has leaked, however make sure you perform a virus scan just be safe :)

i know what the process does. the problem is that when i use flash based stuff my whole PC starts to lag. and why i named this thread the way i did is because when i kill dwm.exe process everything works fine. or is it suppose to limit my PCs framerate to 15fps?

Let's put ut into perspective.

I start World of Warcraft on monitor 1, i have 97fps ingame.
I start Chrome and watching youtube on monitor 2, i get 15fps ingame
If i kill dwm.exe process i can watch youtube fine and the game bumps to 97fps again.

I did timecodes in the description for you so you can watch what happens faster without watching the whole thing.

I did solve it.
I used Process Explorer to watch the dwm.exe work. I copied the info in the "Thread" tab, then i started a video on Youtube,
when it started lagging i refreshed the Thread Tab and found over 13 instances of the "nvwgf2umx.dll" which is a DirectX10 dll.
I searched for it on google and there was a thread about Dead Rising 3 crashes including this dll file. Then i remembered that when
i installed Dead Rising 3 i also installed DirectX from the install which might have given me the dll file that's not working properly.

The fix was to downgrade the NVIDIA drivers from 344.11 to 340.52 and it solved my problem.
