I am using opera, but I have tried Chrome as well.Same results on both browsers.I realise it must have something to do with my PC or its settings but because I can get utube etc etc and the only site I cant get is my webmail I am at a loss as to what the problem could be.
I am answering you on Firefox, which is on my laptop, using Lubuntu.

1) Can you go here? iiNet Webmail - Email Account - iiNet Australia

2) Is the laptop affected?

3) Try flushing the DNS cache. Go to the start orb in search and type cmd. Right click command and open as Admin. Now enter ipconfig /flushdns

4) Any firewalls/anti-virus?

5) Any error messages?

Answer each question please.

So you can go to the webmail website on the affected computer? Are you using an email client like Thunderbird or Outlook? I need specifics otherwise I can't help. You MUST be detailed in what the issue is. Like a good paragraph or so.

If you're trying to reach your inbox via Outlook or another email client, then this means a whole slew of issues that need to be checked. So, are you using an email client? Because you said you can actually go to the website.

If you're running an email client, then double check all these settings please. Email Settings | iiHelp

Oh, if you're using an email client, what version?

The problem is that usually that website has the iinet logo and a different layout to the one I get on my desktop. On my desktop ( and on the normal iinet page )I get iinet in red and orange and I login in the middle of the page.On the version I get now.The whole page is white with blue printing in the top left corner and every time I try to login it says "Wrong password or user name"
Hope this helps.

What it sounds like is that your browser isn't rendering CSS, JS and other web components correctly used for the website. This to me sounds like a cache issue, an add-on issue, or some setting in the browser. To verify if this is the case, run portable Firefox (it's stand alone) once and go to the problematic website. If that works then you have a browser issue with Opera and we can rule out the computer, modem or router. So then we need a HAR file from Opera. A HAR file will allow me to see what exactly is going on. Follow these instructions. Scroll down to where it tells you how to generate a HAR file in Opera. DO NOT login to the website while the HAR file is being generated. You just want to record the activity when you go to the problematic website. Once the HAR file is generated, Zip the resulting HAR file and upload that here.

Something else, are you using the latest version of Opera? No proxy? I believe Opera has their own proxy and this probably could mess things up. Check if there's a proxy in Opera turned on.

Just for the heck of it, try the portable version of Opera as well as Firefox. Don't run both Opera's at the same time. Just launch this portable version (it's stand alone), go to the website in question and tell me if the site renders as it should. Opera portable | USB browser | Free download | Opera

Only generate the HAR file in your problematic browser.

I downloaded the portable version of Firefox and was able to login at iinet,so do you still want a HAR file ?
Thank you very much, its great to be able to get my e-mails and browse the web all from the same PC.
I am using the latest version of Opera but if Firefox is a bettet browser with less problems then I dont mind switching to Firefox.

View attachment HAR.zip

Here is the HAR file from Opra, the only thing is I dont know how to "refresh the page,so I dont know if this is the HAR file you need.Everything went allright, except for refreshing the page.Let me know if this file is ok or,if not,how do I refresh the page for the HAR file.

The HAR file worked.

As suspected, you're not loading a JS (JavaScript) and CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) file correctly. Please check if an extension is the cause by disabling them one by one. Disabling or Uninstalling Browser Extensions

Are you sure you cleared the entire cache?

If you want to install Firefox instead, then go here and disregard using the portable version.

Thanks very much for that advice.I will start disabling the extensions tomorrow and let you know when I have found the correct one. There is one other thing,I tried loading "myabandonware" and Opra refuses to go there, could an extension be causing that as well?
I cleared the cache as per the instructions you sent a few posts ago.

I just went to start checking my extensions and there are only 2.Ad blocker and Opera wallet. There are three tabs All Updates enabled disabled. The "all tab is hilighted ( blue )
What do I do now,because obviously I must have more extensions,surely ?!

I looked on the net and apparently I should click on extensions > manage extensions.
The problem is that I dont have manage extensions. The only options I have are.Extensions Ctrl + Shift + E and Get extensions

I don't understand that then. IMO Opera is a POS browser. It used to be run by a Norwegian company but now sold to a Chinese company.

Uninstall Opera and install Firefox instead. Problem solved.
