Big problem, when i first turned on my computer in the past i got a blue screen and needed to enter a password to get to the page that gave me an option of clicking on admin account or user account. To get rid of the first screen which was a hassle because i'm the only one who uses the computer i went into boot and got rid of the admin account password in boot .

Thought everything would be fine but upon finishing i now have the same blue screen that comes up just like before but now it won't accept any password and i can't get in.

Any ideas , yeah i know i screwed up.

It's the first screen that appears when pressing the power button with the enter password in the middle. I cant get past it to get into boot so i can set up a new password . Even control, alt, delete brings it right back and so does control ,shift, and esc

When you're saying Admin are you referring to the built-in hidden account ?

This sounds like a BIOS password. A BIOS password on a laptop is designed for security and is very secure. I believe the only solution is to contact the manufacturer.

I don't have a camera to take a pic but i called Asus and they said they couldn't help me, it must be a bios password issue and now i'm stuck.

To be honest i'm not sure if i did it by mistake or not. What happened is i entered a admin password by hitting the f2 button and also made a user account password at the same time, after about a month of using them i decided to eliminate the first password (you know the one you need to type in to get to the page that displays your admin account and user account).

I wanted to eliminate that first blue screen that pops up asking you for a password just to get to the screen that makes you choose between your admin account and user account so i went into bios again and removed the admin account by just hitting enter and then enter again to confirm the change.

To my surprise when i get out of the bios options screen i see the blue screen again asking for a password but this time no password works . I tried everything i could think of, hitting enter doesn't work, neither does using my most recent password that i deleted.

I can't get into bios or anything.

In addition, normally taking out the CMOS battery and then reinserting it will reset the BIOS back to factory settings. This may work for you and is a possible solution since all BIOS settings will be reverted

   Note
When you remove the CMOS battery you need to remove all power to the machine as well this includes power supplys and/or laptop batteries

Hope This Helps,
Josh! :)

Well it worked, i got to the battery and took it out for a few minutes and everything was good again, so i thought. The problem i'm having now is it looks like the hard drive is not being recognized.

I decided to reinstall and everything was fine until i got to the part where it's time to install drivers, i have all my drivers on a dvd disk and i load them on to the system from there.

I installed AV and Firefox from the disk and they installed fine but my drivers like USB and audio is not installing like it had in the past.

Any ideas

Thanks

Sorry for the long wait but here is the screenshot of what i'm missing, this is the one that always seems to go missing and trying to update it through clicking on update driver and searching the web never works.

The other screenshot is what i keep getting when i go to a website and save it to appear on my desktop for quick access. In the past i click the desktop icon and it brought me right to the site i saved but now the only thing that pops up in whats shown on the screen.

I was unable to upload the drivers directly to this site due to size limitations therefore I have uploaded the relevant drivers to my Google Driver - https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B3xO7mJ8TY7mZVQ1Z2NvOXhkNkE/edit?usp=sharing

Once opened you can download the .exe by clicking on the drop down menu at the end of the file.

The driver file was obtained from here - https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?lang=eng&DownloadType=Software+Applications&OSFullname=Windows+7++*&DwnldID=22784

Hope This Helps,
Josh! :)

im not sure how it works now ah days, but we usetah beable to fix that problem by popping out the cmos battery, waiting bout 10 minutes, pop it back in and it would set your bios back to the default settings.some motherboards have ah button/reset switch beside the bios chip or the cmos battery.hold it for bout 30 seconds and that will also reset your bios configuration back to defaults.every laptop is different though. Its according to the manufacturer.your best bet, unless you are compu-savy,i would have ah professional take it apart and fix it.

update: nevermind..i see its allready been fixed.

Thanks Josh, what do you think the problem is regarding my shortcuts like when i go to a site to save it for quick access on my main screen but after i click the site on i always get directed to my hard drive page that shows the drives.

I'm really baffled by that one. You can see what i mean in the above post of the screenshots, the one on the right side post # 16.

Thanks again

Are you able to confirm that the drivers have installed? Has your original problem been solved?

As with the link issue, I am not entirely sure... How are you going about creating the links?
