emailing attachments with right click

I am a new Windows 7 user (XP previously). When I want to send a URL link in an email, I am used to backclicking and selecting send as attachment at which point an email pops up from Outlook (which I keep running) with the URL in the text.

With Windows 7, backclicking an attachment results in a new window which tells me I have to install Live Essentials. However, when I read about LIve Essentials it seems to be more of an Otlook Express tool or web based tool than a device to enable what I want to do via Outlook.

Is there a way to use the backclick to email function for URLs?

Windows 7 does not come with an email program. You can install "Windows Live Mail", the replacement for Outlook Express, by downloading either the web installer or the full install of the Suite "Windows Live Essentials". No need to install the whole suite since you can choose to install only Mail. Once you have an email program installed you can set it as the default email client and the Page/Send Link by Email option will work properly.

1. Are you still using Outlook in your Win 7 computer ?

2. Why do you want to send a link as attachment ?
Why woudn'you just simply copy/paste the link into the message body ?
Am I misunderstanding what you wrote ?

Clarification

Sorry, I misspoke in my original post. What I am experiencing is an inability to click a link on a website that is for sending email to that website. Like for more information or to put in a trouble ticket. I use Outlook 2003 for email (running my gmail and other POP accounts through that). I do not understand why I have to load Live Essentials and effectively use this Son of Outlook Exchange when I am only trying to click an "email me" link. I am worried that if I do install Live Update, my Outlook 2003 set up will be disabled or corrupted

If you have Outlook 2003 installed and working properly by itself, then all you need to do is make sure that Windows 7 understands that Outlook 2003 is your default email client. Go to Start>Default Programs and use the last item "Set Program Access and Computer Defaults" and specifically choose the name of the program in each category that you want as the default for that category. (Do not leave it set at "use my current...") Make sure the "Enable" boxes are checked and click "OK" at the bottom.
