embarrassed but need help identifying motherboard

Hi Guys..pretty embarrassed but have an issue I can't solve...moved my motherboard from my old PC (Now clean install of Win 10 64bit thanks to Brink) to another soon to be upgraded to 10 Win 7 Pro 32bit box but can't get it to boot. Get immediate long beep-2 short beeps but won't boot. I thought it was the new graphics card GeForce GT 630..but reseated a number of times...and tried to get the PC to boot via the onboard graphics...but same error code

Now...I can't find or see the motherboard info on the board in the PC box. Is there a way to identify the board so I can trace down what 1long-2short beeps mean at startup with this bios ?

Trying to hunt down when and where I got the board but so far no luck

It's an Asus board but can't find the original manual and have no way to look up the board without a model #...etc that I can think of ??

Asus usually uses AMI (American Megatrends) BIOS. What CPU is in the board? Also, can you tell us what writing is on it? The model is usually on the board somewhere. I don't know of a 1 long and 2 short beep code, but it has a 1 long 3 short beep code that is memory related. Are you able to enter BIOS? If not, I would check make sure the ram is in the correct slots and re seat it and try again. If it will post,

Please download from this site only http://www.memtest.org/ in the middle of the page are the Download links, you can download the ISO.zip or the Auto USB Flash Drive installer.zip

Extract the Zip file. If you chose the ISO image, burn it to a CD using Windows Disk Image Burner or any Image burner you may have. If you downloaded the Auto USB installer, extract it, insert your USB 2.0 Flash Drive and take note of the drive letter. Run the installer, select the Flash Drive Letter, check the format box and press next. It will install memtest86+ to a flash drive. You can use either V4.20 or V5.01. Boot from your selected media. If you use V5.01 it will tell you to press certain buttons at the start, please press no buttons. The test will begin on it's own and continue to run until you stop it. It needs to run for 8 complete passes or until you receive an error. If you receive an error, stop the test. Even 1 error is a fail. Each pass tests a different part of the ram and each of the 10 tests in each pass tests something different. It takes a minimum of 8 passes to completely test the ram, more passes are better. It is quite a long test and will take several hours depending on how much ram you have. Due to the time length it is best to run overnight. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask​

My two Asus motherboards have a small white sticker on the lower right that have the needed I.D. numbers. They are very small to read.
I have to use a magnifying glass to read them.

A picture straight down of the mobo will allow us to locate the information, removing any GPU or sound cards will also help.

Yep my manual says 1 long and 2 short beeps means no memory detected.

download trial from here:
Downloads | AIDA64
install and load, then on the right pane open up "Motherboard" / "Motherboard
on the left pane look for "Motherboard name" entry (second from the top)

Thanks guys....should have mentioned this in original post...this same board ...no changes on anything...worked flawlessly in my old Win 7 Pro box (#1) prior to Win 10 clean install last week in #1....moved board intact with same video card-memory-cpu etc to box #2 - 1 long beeb-2 short. Have reset memory - GT 630 - after moving to box 2 - still same issue...1 long 2 short bios beebs and no joy after that

Will check on cpu later today and motherboard info with my magnifying glass (photo too)...but this same board as is worked fine in box #1 prior to upgrade MB/Mem/CPU of box #1 last week ?

Strip the board down, to 1 stick of ram, the on board graphics, no Hard drive or DVD. Nothing attached but keyboard and mouse, and try to boot. Nothing attached except what is required to post. See what happens.

Recheck you power supply connections making sure the correct wires are attached and that they are completely seated in the correct places. Are you sure the ATX 12V EPS at the top of the CPU is connected and fully seated?

Ok...here's the photo and info....also the board is KCC-REM-MSQ-M5878L-MLXPLUS....

I think I tried the bare bones bios post but will try again now per above suggestion...

No...moved board in tact to new case....per above...one stick etc...same post error 1 long-2 short - ATX 12V EPS connected securely

Power leads appear to be correct but since I don't have the manual...can't be sure ?? Now I have board ID will double check power leads. Since this is a different case...all the lead id's are not exactly the same markings as the MB...will be checking that as soon as I get a schematic

When you put it in the case, are you sure all standoffs were lined up with the holes in the motherboard (6, I think) and there were no extras, and all were snugged down?

When you tried to start up last time, did you disconnect everything else? Only CPU and Ram installed, no Hard drive, DVD or anything else?

Yes....only six pins on case - six pin holes on board. yes...only cpu and 1 stick of ram installed

Attached is potential issue...are/could these two case pin connections be switched...do I have ground/hot reversed ? Will I do any damage to board etc...if I switch these 2 pins for PWRBTN per MB schematic attached ? The lead from the current case has this as 'Power SW' Should black / green wire be reversed ?

Any problems if I try these two reversed ? Have speaker connector removed for clarity.

Would the incorrect pin attachments on the power bar cause the failure to boot...ie 1 long- 2 short bios beeps ?

I'll look, but the power button doesn't matter which 2, other ones it does matter.

I really can't tell from the picture, but again the power button does not matter. You can try disconnecting everything else.

OK...not much else happened with all case wires removed but system did not beep at all at power on...unfortunately it's off to work now but will continue tomorrow and add one power lead at a time and see what happens....

When you do hook things up double check this connection. Sometimes it's difficult to get seated all the way. Also double check it the proper cable from the power supply.

Thanks LB....the old board in this box did boot ok after a number of tries previously....so the power cable seems to be ok....I think there is/are 2 4 pin cables for the jack you indicated so I'll check both if there's still an issue....
