embarrassed but need help identifying motherboard

Well too optimistic too soon...the board didn't beep (1long - 2 shorts) with everything disconnected because....dah...I had also pulled the speaker lead from the pin power bar.

Speaker pins back in ...all cards, hdds, sata, dvd's out - 1 stick memory that I've swapped out with the other stick...and still my dreaded 1 long, 2 short beeps - remember...this board with this memory and this cpu worked flawlessly for a couple years in old box #1

Here are my four case leads to power bar:

Power SW - Reset SW - HDD Led - Power led+/power led-

Here are the designated pins on the power bar:

Top Row - PLED 2 pins - PWBIN 2 pins (Have switched the Black/Green PWBIN leads...no change
Bottom Row +HD LED 2 pins - Reset - 3 pins (the board reset lead only has 2 pins)

Is there still hope out there for me and this board/box

Update...tried different (original) case for this board...same issue...everything disconnected but power switch & speaker...still get the 1 long - 2 short beeps at startup....

Kind of odd you're assuming wiring up these items
Seems you're assuming all of them personally :/

Why are you messing with them without a manual ?
If you get the machine to start pressing the power button stop there your error has nothing to do with any of the case connections
To start with the power button it should only need 2 of those wires disconnect all others.

It's most likely the connections already pointed out by other members,
Secure them and like I said the error tones is No Memory detected
1 Long beep is usually complete power failure or again no memory detected
I had the same on an Acer board with the same brand ram as you have.

Try other ram not the same.

Well as I said in a previous post the board was removed from box 1....memory & all else intact...and monted in case #2...not sure why there's a memory issue when it worked in the morning...was moved to 2...and now does't work....will check further tomorrow....

If that's the case than your MacGyver wiring does not start with the case wiring
Sounds like your cpu and mainboard wiring is just as played with ?

i personally would bench test before putting in case. put motherboard on a non conductive surface like a piece of cardboard and just have cpu and heat sink one stick of ram and use on board graphics if motherboard has it. then plug in the 24 pin connector and the 4 pin cpu connector and using a flat blade screwdriver to jump the power pins for a second. if all good add another stick of ram if still all good hook up one item at a time like hard drive and cd/dvd drive then mount the board in the case if the beeps come back then something is going on with mounting to case.

OK...some progress...I got rid of the 1long - 2short beeps...however...now at power on I get no beep at all...speaker disconnected
Both memory sticks are good...will try and disconnect any and all cards...etc and try reboot again...

Step 2 is to try the bench test above...thanks...fingers crossed...

Connect the speaker and see if you get beeps.

OK...decided enough time on this.... special thanks to all that sincerely helped out...

Bought a new compatable system board at Fry's....and voila system with one beep starts properly....with same memory sticks and everything else. ��
Convinced it wasn't the memory...but is/was the board's memory slots

Again...thanks all

Now...new issue start up now fails with error mesage like "Windows can't strart...maybe new hardware

Shoul I continue this here...or start new in hardware/setup forum. ??

When you change out motherboard you will need to put fresh copy of windows.

Yes...that's what I'm thought/thinking...but I replaced my old MB in case #1 and everything started 1st time and smoothly prior to upgrade to 10 with no need for fresh copy or anything else...just needed the dvd registration code?

Previously put windows 10 on case one...think I just might do the same for this case #2. Will go again with Brinks usb tutorial for a clean install of 10...worked great & smoothly with box #1 and Win Pro 64 bit

Any addition thoughts would be appreciated if there's a better/smoother way...have Acronis image of 32 bit Windows for new can't boot problem case # 2 on external usb drive....so unless I'm missing something...will probably go with above tonight after work ?

Have registered licensed dvd of Win Pro 32 bit for this problem case discussed above so...unless I'm forgetting something....will probably reformat the drive...reinstall from original Win Pro 32 bit...bring in SP1 and then clean install

You do understand that the 32 bit OS will limit usable ram seen to under 4gb likely 3.2-3.4gb.
