Emergency- My screen has turned 90 degrees

Evereything is turned on its side- mouse control is similarly changed- up is right and down is left. I am current writing from top to bottom of the screen. I was trying to get rid of those probably scam websites which say scanning for trojan- install Windows Defender- only total close of all windows would get rid of it. I was preparing to restart and the screen view went on its side. I restarted and its a bizarre as before. My wife will blame me big time.

The first two flash screen are normal- one saying Fujistu and the other Window starting (in Japanese)- then its back to bizarro world.

Try This.

Right click on you desktop. Select Graphics Options->Rotation.

That option's only available if you have the specific graphic driver/card. For instance, if they didn't have Intel graphics, you wouldn't have the option in the context menu.

First off stating what graphics card and drivers you have or updating it in your system specs would be nice.

Thanks- that was a life saver- why Windows 7 has that option on the desktop is almost beyond sense.

Glad it's sorted out. I think the idea is that you can rotate the whole monitor so that an A4 style document will fill the screen.

Did you mean to write to this thread as I can't see where you are referring to.

I would give specs if I know how to find it and how to understand it. All I know is I have a FMV Deskpower Monitor. I'd certainly wish to update the drivers- but that require knowing what I have- I know there's software for that but my wife would be unhappy if I installed anything.

I tried but msinfo32.exe will not give me my display details or else there isn't a graphics card (beats me how it performs so well so far). It will give me Audio details- Realtek High Definition Audio. I tried DMA and it locked up. I have general details. Do you want the NFO file generated although that's having difficulty being generated? 2.13 GHz Intel i3 core.

It took ages to load up- Its an Intel (R) Media Accelerator HD. I tried Intel's driver check but it just said

Product Detected Intel® HD Graphics Current Driver Installed 8.15.10.1995 A customized computer manufacturer driver is installed on your computer. The Intel Driver Update Utility is not able to update the driver. Installing a generic Intel driver instead of the customized computer manufacturer driver may cause technical issues. Contact your computer manufacturer for the latest driver for your computer.

Which leads to Fujitsu's Japanese Japanese website as they don't support finding Japanese computer drivers from their international site.

FWIW: lots of times a ctrl+alt+arrow keys will turn your screen right left upside down.

But not in all case.

I would start simple. If you have install some make my desktop pretty program I would remove it. If you can go back to a restore point when it was working proper. Then I would run sfc /scannow. (notice the space between the c and /)

Its only what came with the OEM (a few small additions but nothing to the desktop) - granted that's probably a lot of junkware with more than 1/2 of applications no idea what they do. Anyway can't remove anything- wife's computer. She shows the danger of a little knowledge.
