Empty Folders...not!!

My old computer was going bad so I backed up the hard drive. When I attempt to restore it to my new computer the backup says that the backup is not on the disks. Skip the media a couple of times and it starts to back up...but it wont ask for the rest of the disks and stops. When I check the restore file all the folders are there but it says they are empty. But if I delete the restore file there is over 4 gigs in it???? Any clues?

What application did you use to make this backup?

You backed up the entire C drive, or just portions of it, or?

You backed up to DVDs rather than a separate hard drive?

DVD backup is more problematic than backup to a hard drive. I'd make a new backup to a hard drive of some kind if possible.
