Enable stereo mix on Vaio CW32

Hello people!

I am trying to record from wave in with my Vaio CW23. I have installed the newst 2.51 Realtek drivers but what happens is that even I cannot see the Realtek Audio icon (both CP and trayicon - no Realtek Audio Manager avaliable) as I cannot see any hidden wave "what U hear", "stereo mix" ...

I really need to record using Audacity. Is possible to hack the drivers in order to allow it? I have searched and searched and a lot of people can do that... any help?

Right click on the win7 audio tray icon
select recording devices
right click on device area
select show disabled and disconnected icons
Enable the Stereo Mix option

No need for the 3rd party app as long as the drivers are present

this is the way it's worked for me on many systems

Ok, but that´s what I am telling: there aren´t any stereo mix avaliable to be shown.

I already have the realtek latest drivers installed... I guess I need a kind of hack tip on the installation files but I dont know what files to handle.

My guess is that Realtek drivers will not release the stereo mix on Sony Vaio systems, due MS/RIAA complains, that issues. But if can confuse the installation process I could installm correctly. Here I am in a lack of knownlegde to solve.

I assume you are obtaining the drivers Realtek and not from Sony? If this is the case I would expect them to work.

I could understand that Sony might want to limit your options but would not expect the Realtek standard drivers to include any checks of this sort - though with a company of Sony's size it is possible, that they could add conditions or even disable the option in hardware.

You may be forced to go to a USB sound card solution to do what you need

For sony use this driver realtek_hda_r161 it will show Stereo mix but ur headphone will work with ur speakers at the same time.
