Endless Black Screen Instead of Rebooting During Installation

OK, after repeated installs of WinXP to track down the problem, it looks like something has failed in my graphics card. The problem probably shows up during the install for Win7 because it actually has drivers built into it, while XP doesn't really use the card until you download & install drivers.

Thanks for all the help, I bet if it wasn't a hardware issue you guys would have solved the heck out of it!

Try install until you get to the fail point, then reboot into Safe Mode by tapping F8 after restart.

You should get an error prompt that installation cannot be continued in safe Mode.

At that point, press Shift F10 to open a Command Line, then type compmgmtlauncher to access Device Manager.

Disable Display adapter and restart to attempt to boot into Win7.
