I have 4 computers on my home network. I can access shared folders just fine on all of them except for one. Whenever I try to access shared folders on my Win 7 Ultimate PC a "Windows Security" box pops up asking me to enter a user name and password. I enter my user name and password but it will not grant access! Most f*cking annoying! I have played around with the security permissions but nothing seems to work. Does anyone know how to resolve this issue? It is driving me nuts!

Thanks for any and all replies!

You should first check the Advanced Sharing settings via the Network and Sharing Center, make sure that the "Use account names and passwords to access other computers" isn't checked.

Also check the time/date settings on the machine to make sure it's set exactly the same as the other machines.

Thank you for your response. The "Use account names and passwords to access other computers" isn't checked on any of the machines. I have synchronized the internet time settings and yet the problem persists!

Any other suggestions woud be appreciated. Thank you.

Nice try, but that did NOT solve the problem. I can see the shares on the Win 7 Ultimate PC but whenever I try to access them it still prompts me for a user name and password. I see other posts on this forum for this issue. Has ANYONE ever found a solution???

The solution I gave you I used only a few hours earlier as I needed to transfer software from my PC to my wife's PC and I was getting the Username and Password prompt as well.
Did you choose a "new" password ?
Did you re-boot the PC's ?
Try log out of the Homegroup and then log back in.
Go to Windows Explorer right click on Homegroup left click Share with Devices and see what is there.
