My daughter's laptop is throwing BSODs and will not install Windows updates. I've downloaded the CheckSUR tool and have attached the log file from that. I need help getting the missing repair files OR I need help fixing the problems if getting the missing repair files isn't the direction I need to take.
We ran the CHKDSK and it said everything was ok. I think that's because when I finally tried to run it manually, it said everything was ok. I think she said it had run two or three days previously. I don't know if she started it or if the laptop started it on it's own after a BSOD and a reboot.
I tried to run the SFC but it was unsuccessful with the following message:
'Windows Resource Protection could not perform the requested operation.'
Can someone help? I don't want to wipe her laptop and start over, if at all possible. Thank you!
