Error While "Burning" ISO Wind 7x64, Home Premium to USB Drive

I am attempting to put an ISO image on a USB drive, but I keep getting an error that the ISO Image that I am using is not legit.

I am using the Windows 7 USB Download Tool, burning to a Kingston 8GB Thumb Drive.

Apologies if the post is shorter than it should be, but that is all I have at the moment.

Make sure you get the same version you have, Home Premium, Pro or Ultimate and 32 or 64 bit. Note that Basic or Starter is not available.

I recommend using ImgBurn at 4X speed (or the slowest available) to create the DVD from the downloaded .iso file.

You can do this on any computer capable of burning a DVD.

YOU MUST HAVE A VALID KEY TO INSTALL THIS .ISO. The one on the COA sticker on your computer will work.

You can also create a bootable USB Flash drive (4GB or larger) to install Windows 7 from.

1. Download and run Universal USB Installer – Easy as 1 2 3
2. Select Windows 7 from the first drop down list, all the way to the bottom
3. Select the downloaded Windows 7 iso file
4. Select your USB flash drive
5. Click Create

For techies or folks who work on computers: Create Windows 7 Universal ISO With All Editions Selection On Install with ei.cfg Removal Utility.
This will fit on a 6GB flash drive or can be burned to a DVD.

Burning software has no way to know if an iso is legit or not. You may just need to download the iso file again, the first one is often corrupt for some crazy reason.

Is this Asus Factory Preinstalled Win7? Is the Product Key readable on COA sticker?

If not where did you get Win7 and how is it being activated?

IMG Burn worked beautifully, however I have another problem now. Setup is telling me that it is missing a required CD/DVD Drivers.

For everyone that is wondering as this is now necessary information, I am trying to install Windows 7 on an HP. I have read(briefly) that there is indeed a work around for this, but incase I can't find that work around again would someone be able to fill me in on a fix?

When you get that error . Click on the Ok button . Remove the USB flash drive move it to another USB port and click on the Install Now button . It should continue without any issues .

Unfortunately this doesn't solve my issue. It doesn't mention anywhere in the tutorial about issues with CD/DVD Drivers. Unless I missed it of course...

The error is almost always a bad installer. Confirm the ISO download completed and burn another at 4x speed.

If that fails wipe the HD first with Clean command then define an Active NTFS Primary partition as shown in http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/91339-ssd-hdd-optimize-windows-reinstallation.html

Unplug all other HD's and peripherals.

Alright I used DiskPart to clean the Disk out, but I am still getting the same error. I took a picture of the error so I can show you guys specifically what I am talking about incase it is unclear. Note: This is being done with a CD/DVD, I have tried to create a boot USB Using the Ultimate Boot USB Tool above and I keep getting an error that it cannot boot.

Nope. It keeps me there until I either shut the PC Down, or until I insert media with the requested driver. Which is why I was so confused before.

Trying that now. Sorry if I seem stubborn...just a little frustrated.

If you eject the DVD and push in the DVD back in and click on Install Now . Making it think its a new disc .

I tried that since I didnt make a USB Boot Stick at first. No change.

If I have to burn it at a dead crawl theres gonna be trouble xD. Will try that when the image finishes redownloading

Do you have winrar or 7zip that opens .iso files ? You could copy the contents of the ISO to a bootable USB
