Error while initializing hard drive.

Today, I was unable to access one of my hard drives. I went to disc manager and it showed the file system being RAW. I used autoruns and disabled autocheck and restarted my computer. Now when I go back into disc manager, it shows it as being Unknown and Not Initialized. I tried to iniatialze it and the error "The semaphore timeout period has expired." What can I do?
