Can you get into safe mode? You can run System Restore from there to a point before updating.

¨can't even acsess the bios, everything freezes. I even tried disconecting all the harddrives, and really doesn't make a difference, so must be something with the motherboard. I'm no pro, but is it possible it tried to update the bios, and somehow got interupted midway, and therefor won't start?

i have a windows 7 dvd, but since i can't access my BIOS, i can't accsess the diskdrive, as mentioned earlier, pressing delete only leads to list of harware, not bios, and can't do anything from there.

With the bood dvd in the tray, dont you get the message "Press any key to boot from cd..."? If not, try tapping F9 or F12 at boot, that might throw up the boot menu which'll allow you to choose the dvd as the boot device.

no, nothing works, but have now located that it's a problem with the RAM, so that means i'm on the wrong forum i guess, but if interested, i have 2x4 GB corsair xms3 ram(ddr3), for my Asus Croshair IV Formula motherboard, and the red light for the ram blinks on booting, wich menas there is a problem with the ram, useing one or both of the chips i get to the asus screen but no longer, and if i use only the onther, screen remains black while only the red light keeps flashing.

Try using the first slot with only one stick installed.
If one stick is bad and one good the good stick should go green light.

Fixed my computer now, turns out it had nothing to do with the update! or the RAM or motherboard for that matter. after riping my computer apart, putting it back together piece by piece booting and rebooting, i found that it was the memoricard from my nokia xpress music phone standing in the cardreader that was the problem all along! i'm so pissed off on nokia atm! the only reason the card was in my computer is that my phone is beeing repaird for seconed time, and i tried to access my phonebook wich their software failed to give me!
