So i've been having a few issues with my computer recently and just been trying to diagnose it. I ran into sfc /scannow and found that I have corrupt files but cant manage to repair them. I've also encountered errors with trying to update windows but getting errors there so it might possibly be connected? can someone help me with this. I pasted my CBS log below. if you need any additional information. I'm happy to provide.

Hello and welcome momo now mate please follow this
Now before we can help we do need to know what is in your machine so please do this System Info - See Your System Specs
or either enter the specs of your system in your forum profile the specs will appear when we click on that little box bottom left of the post screen it is for me the preferable option as it is easy. As you may appreciate it is very hard when you don’t know what one is working with for example a diesel or petrol engine.

The sfc is sometimes best run for three scans but if you are satisfied with what you have done then leave thta but having said that it only takes a little while to run.

The other thing you can run is this in the meantime
Disk Check < if necessary include the /f switch and if this does not make any improvement then just run this switch instead /r in the command line as per Option2
Run these in safe mode and the sfc often best run for two to three runs – you can leave out the /r switch in ckdsk if you feel it not necessary < this takes a bit longer and when set up will require a reboot - when the machine starts up again just let it do it's thing.

Thank you for responding. I added in my specs on my profile so you can check them out. I ran the sfc more than 3 times before. And I had already done a disk check before making this thread with it being completely identical to that thread.

When I ran the file check with it both ticked, it took quite a while but at the end of it, it seemed like nothing had changed.

Ok well I am not a real expert at this stuff and to me the end report looks to say that repairs have been done to the system files. Now I am assuming you did the sfc scans in safe mode as doing that means only the system files were loaded and not some of your programs etc that I am guessing may interfere with the scan.

What I think I might do is ask for some help on this one as there may be something that I am not aware of going on in that readout - if that is ok with you?

The problem here is with Manifest files - and you need to use CheckSUR/SURT to properly identify them

Please download and save the CheckSUR tool from http://support.microsoft.com/kb/947821
(you'll need to look in the details for Windows 7, downloading from the Microsoft Download Center)

Run it - The tool can take anywhere from 5 mins to a couple of hours to run (or 'Install') depending on how much it has to do, and may exit silently - it may appear to freeze for most of that time, but be patient.
The result is logged in the C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CheckSUR.log file - and an archive …\checksur.persist.log file

copy/paste the output into your response (or save to a file and upload the file)
