ok, so I shut down the prefetch service on my PC. however now I event viewer is loaded with errors and warnings about readyboot no having enough space etc. now I read all over online that readboot is no big deal and Microsoft says just to ignore it and that it causes 0 loss in performance. so how can I disable this event from showing in event viewer?

Your specs show 8 gigs of ram. Why are you using Read Boost and turning off prefetch.
In my opinion that is not a smart move. Ram being used is a good thing. That is why it is there.

im NOT using ready boost. the error is readyBOOT which is prefetch service being disabled. its disabled because this is strictly a gaming and video editing rig. that's all.

The only instance when you want to disable superfetch is on a solid state drive. (Your specs show a mechanical hd)

But to simply answer your question, you can not disable the log in event viewer.

Andrew, even with a ssd I keep superfetch. Why do you say that?

It shortens the life. Also most SSD manufactures recommened it be disabled.

I also have a SSD and keep Superfetch enabled.

You could also go to this Tutorial by Brink and go to #5 and make sure Readyboost is turned off.
