Exactly what is MS Office 2007?

Had XP Pro with Office for years...very stable.
New computer is Win 7 and I'd like some Office
programs.

But in looking at Office 07 for sale I'm confused:

* What is MS Office Enterprise 07?
There are programs called Groove, Infopath, One Note, and then
* Primary Interop Assemblies
* Small business connectivity components
* Office Activation Assistant

... see what I mean?
I just want - Word, Outlook & Frontpage (although
apparently this has changed name).

Is it possible to get these without all the rest?
(don't mind if Excel & Powerpoint are bundled in)

you can choose to only install the programs you want during the office 2007 install.

V.simple - i live on a pension - 2010 too expensive and
I only want Word and ... did want to retain Frontpage but MS seemed to
have done it's usual ungenerous thing and created a new product in which
only pages created therein can be edited ... so don't need that ...will continue
with D.Weaver which can edit any web page.
Having seen Outlook not sure that I want that either ... too bloated, too heavy.
Used OE for yrs and like minimalism ... unless there's something I'm missing which Outlook does.

In that case have a look at Sun Microsystem's Open Office free Office Suite which is perfectly fine and compatible with Office: http://www.openoffice.org/

I have never understood why people spend $250+ for Office when every retail computer sold has the comparable MS Works suite on it. Maybe someone can explain it to me.

Yes OpenOfc will open Word docs: Writer

Have you tried Windows Mail which is now downloaded from MS? Working with Windows Mail

Re: win live mail - yeah, probably ok, nice and light but I'm suspicious
and don't want all my mail going throught MS servers.
Am wathcing Google for same reason ... the temptation to collect
data is too great for these corporations.

I like Yahoo Mail which has worked perfectly for me for more than a decade. Hotmail is hinky by comparison. Yahoo also never makes news that causes concern like Google has lately.
