On two separate RTM installations, if I right-click on icons often enough (no set number of times) during the course of a session, I get the error message that explorer is restarting. It doesn't usually affect what is running but it is a pain to see the icons disappear and reappear. Is anyone else having this problem and have you found a solution:mad:

Same Issue

I am having the same issue and I think it is to do with the add-ins for the right click event in windows 7. In words for people who aren't technical --> When you right-click on the screen windows has to load every row of data into the little menu. So when you install different applications that use this, Windows has to reconize the data to enter it. Once Windows Loads this Sometimes it has an error and sometimes it doesn't But I dont Know how to fix it yeat..... This will be my next task when it starts to bug me to no end.

Join the club, a lot of people have Explorer crashing, but it's for many reasons that are hard to pin down. If it happens when right clicking, there is a good way to try and find it. Download ShellExview ShellExView - Shell Extension Manager For Windows.

Those context menus when you right click are shell extensions that are populated with right click options for your applications. One or more of your 3rd party programs is killing it when you right click.

Open Shellexview and disable all non Microsoft extensions and see if you can still crash Explorer. if not, turn them on one at a time till you can find which one is the culprit.

You may or may not find one, but it's the best place to start.
