Ok I have 3 questions so I'm going to jam them all in one topic instead of making 3.

I installed this theme and its explorerframe.dll: PlastiQ Aero 1.1 by ~Lukeedee on deviantART

Now when I open a window that involves folders like this:

28CNo.png

the portion circled in red disappears.

Is this a problem with this theme specifically (and if so can I fix it?), or is it a known problem with themes?

----------------------------------------

Is there any way I can restore the original dlls to Windows (system files and whatnot). I would probably still be able to work with what I have, but I'd rather start over now that I have more knowledge about what I am doing.

----------------------------------------

Is there a theme manager that lets youcontrol things like Explorerframe.dll, shellstyle.dll, etc.? That would really save me a lot of time.

Thanks for help on any of these questions!

It's possible it's a windows color setting in advanced appearance settings. The author seems to reply to questions on his page, you might ask him?

You can return to original files by running the System File Checker:

http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1538-sfc-scannow-command-system-file-checker.html

You would have to repatch your system afterwords to use 3rd party themes.

You can change the theme resources with Theme Resource Changer (you will need to register to view/and d/l the files. They can be found elsewhere, but suggest joining VC, as it is a great resource, and they can answer questions about the program).

Thanks for your response.

I originally asked here about the theme issue because I thought it might be a common problem and I just did something wrong.

sfc /scannow appears to have fixed some things, but it threw an error and essentially said that some files were not restored. That's ok though because I didn't care about that that much.

Thanks for the link to the dll manager!

Try running the SFC a few times, it may correct more problems on each run. You're welcome :)
