Hello to everyone

As i'm new to this forum, as welcome note i have problem to present.

Before few months i bought 2 USB extension cables for my mouse and keyboard.
They are about meter and half long, and in that time i did not have any problems with them, until last night.
In one moment i unplugged keyboard from USB extension cable and after that after i plugged it again, the keyboard did not work, not any kind of message or sound after you plug in something to usb port. So i tried plugging in mouse in same extension cable and mouse worked, but after switching keyboard to another ext.cable it did not work again.
Only way for keyboard to work is to plug it in directly to PC.
I tried uninstalling USB drivers so let windows install them automatically, but same nothing happen, only mouse is working ... :S its weird, don't know what to do as booth extension cables are obviously working. Tested with mouse. Keyboard is working as i said before i tested it plugging in directly. Never seen this kind of problem.

Help appreciated

When you unplugged the usb cable (key board), was the PC powered on? Sometimes doing so can cause such issues as you are experiencing. Generally a reboot will set things wright.

What does it look like in the device manager, are there any yellow triangles?

Have you tried using different usb ports with the extension cable?

When i unplugged the usb cable PC was powered on, and after that i rebooted PC few times, but still no results. In device manager there are no any yellow triangles, everything seems to work fine there, all usb ports are installed also as keyboard, but in some strange way is not accepted anymore through extension cable.
Also i tried switching to other ports but couldn't make it work.
Also i tried with usb stick on both extension cables and usb stick worked, but later on i tried with x-box controller and i got same problem working directly but no through the extension cable.
It seems that higher voltage is, it doesn't work, but it confuses me as it worked for few months and suddenly stooped.

The keyboard and Xbox controller works plugged in directly but when using the extension cable you get nada. Although using the extension cable with other devices works and works in all the usb ports. Only a couple of possibilities and I think one is driver related with the keyboard and usb ports even though device manager shows nothing. The other is a bad cable, partially bad - meaning something is wrong with the usb actual pin connection (the head).

thx for respond mate, there is big possibility that cable is bad, but odds that are two extension cable screwed up, and booth in same moment is 1/1000. I'll go and check at friends PC if cable works with keyboard to be sure is it up to drivers or cable.

Defiantly problem is in extension cables, just tested at friend PC and still keyboard could not work.
I borrowed his cable and tested at my PC and keyboard worked. So bad luck for me, i lost booth ext.cable in one moment, got to buy new ones and better ones.

its solved
